Who are we?

Solar Pump Yojana is a group supported and founded by professionals for the socio-economic and livelihood of the poor in India. We are currently involved in poverty alleviation and community empowerment through a dynamic approach of community driven centers at the cluster level. Controlled development centers are another focus for us; these help rural communities gain access to reliable electricity. Another focus is mobilization, organization and collective action for local communities and ethnic groups – especially women and farmers. Sewa Kendras reach out to far-flung helmsmen to build capacity and include the disaffected poor community members of women and men; with the help of We, 24-hour power can be possible in the villages of India using electricity generated on farmers’ land. With this program, farmers will be able to reduce their consumption of diesel and kerosene and will be able to sell the extra electricity they produce to any company that will pay them a price per unit.
